Sleep well, Leonard Nimoy.

I remember as a little kid and being teased about my first name. It had reached a head and, despairing, I told my mother I wanted to change it. When asked what I’d rather be called, I unhesitatingly said, “Spock.” In my mind at the time, he was the model of someone no one could fuck with. Intimidatingly intelligent and more than physically capable when he had to be, the way Leonard Nimoy played that character was one of my first models for thriving as an outsider with self-assurance and capability. Sleep well, Leonard. You earned your rest.
